2024 HOLOCAUST SCHOLAR

Bexley High School welcomed Dr. David Meola, Associate Professor of History and Jewish Studies at the University of South Alabama & Director of the Jewish & Holocaust Studies Program as its 2024 Holocaust Scholar. Dr. Meola spent  March 6 and 7 speaking with high school history and world studies students on “Antisemitisim, Conspiracies and the Holocaust” and “Judaism as a Public Religion.” The Holocaust Scholar program was initiated by now-retired social studies teacher Dr. Ben Trotter, who taught Bexley High School’s first Holocaust Seminar in 2006 and conceived the idea of bringing in a guest scholar each year. The program is funded by designated gifts to the Bexley Education Foundation.
