ZOO VISITS WRAP UP 2023

The Bexley Education Foundation ended its 40th anniversary year celebration with a special gift of Columbus Zoo visits to each elementary school. The Zoo’s education teams brought a variety of zoo animals to Montrose, Maryland and Cassingham during the week of December 18th.  Here’s what we heard about the visits from students:

  • Sunny the sloth was very cute. Did you know that sloths can hold a gallon of pee!

  • Animals that we think are dangerous can actually be very helpful to us.

  • An owl can turn its head 120 degrees!

  • Opossums are actually related to kangaroos and koala bears.

  • Sammy the penguin’s name is short for Salmon. The dots on his chest are unique to him, just like fingerprints in humans.

  • We learned so much and had a lot of fun meeting all of the animals!
