Hello Class of 69! Here is the final schedule for our 55th reunion:

We would really appreciate it if you could please email Anne Farley at annefar925@gmail.com no later than JUNE 15th to let her know what events you would like to attend. We desperately need to have an idea of how many classmates would like to ride on the float, attend Michael’s party, etc.

THURSDAY, JULY 4: We will have a float in the parade which begins at 9:30 am. A later email will be sent with details as to where and what time we will meet. Bexley also has a huge event on the main lawn at Capital University which begins at 6:00pm with music, activities, food – you name it. Fireworks will follow at 10:00pm.

FRIDAY, JULY 5: We will have an informal gathering at Michael Zikas’ home at 11 Sessions Drive in Sessions Village beginning at 7:00pm. Light appetizers and snacks, beer, wine and mixers will be available. Please feel free to bring anything and anyone you would like.

Also, from 9:30am to 11:30am, the high school will be offering coffee and bagels and tours of the school for anyone who would like to stop in.

SATURDAY, JULY 6: We are meeting at the front patio of Gatsby’s in Gahanna, 151 N. Hamilton Rd. 43230 at 5:00pm. Dinner and drinks and lots of reminiscing! Please note that food and drinks are on our own but the fun is on everyone! Again, you are welcome to bring anyone.

Wednesday, July 3rd

For classmates arriving early, we’ll have an Ice Cream Get-Together at Johnson’s at 2:30pm just to get everyone in the “Bexley Mood.”  Get reacquainted with your old friends…and make some new ones, too!  We’ll be on our own to pay for what we order.  And if you live locally, please bring a folding chair as we may need additional seating.

6:00pm - ?? :  Old Bag of Nails Pub on the corner of Broad St. and Nelson Rd.  (NOT a formal part of our Reunion…but many other Bexley people from other classes go there and you may want to join them.)  You know how it works.  No reservations required.  At 10:00, just step outside (or go downtown) to see Red White and Boom.

Thursday, July 4th

Gather at 9:00am at Maryland Ave. School to ride on our float in the Bexley 4th of July Parade.  (Classmates only please.)  Details to follow in a separate email.

Immediately following the parade, take a Tour of the High School to see how it’s changed in 50 years.  Meet Mark Liefeld at the south doors right after you get off the parade float.  He’ll lead us through the hallowed halls.

Evening – On your own to attend the Bexley 4th of July Fireworks at Capital University.

Morning

Evening – An Elegant Dinner Party at Jeffrey Mansion!  Why Jeffrey again?

Price – We kept the price reasonable so as many classmates as possible can attend.  

Location – Everyone knows where Jeffrey Mansion is.  It’s convenient and the perfect size for our Reunion Dinner.

We’ll “dress it up” to make this Reunion far more special than the others…as this is “the biggie.”

Attire:  Dressy Casual – Reservations Required – Just $40 per person.  Spouses and guests welcome.  Beer and wine included.

Cocktail hour begins at 6:00pm.  Class photo at 6:45pm.  (Free this time!  With phone cameras taking such high-quality photos, we’ll just have a guest or two take our picture…and then post it on the class Facebook Page afterwards.)  Dinner at 7:15pm.

Saturday, July 6

Picnic at John Schwartz’s house at 195 N Roosevelt.  From 12:00 – 3:00.  Just $10/person.  BYOB (and folding chairs please).  Very informal.  But reservations are required.

● Ride the 79ers’ float in the Bexley Parade! Meet at Martha Paul Schwartz’s house at 195 N. Roosevelt between 8:30AM-9:30AM for snacks and adult beverages. We will jump on the float at 9:40ish.

○ Feel free to bring bagels, donuts, or other breakfast items. ○ Bring candy to toss off of the float.

● Spend the day at the Columbus City Club on Hoover Dam, 7705 Cubbage Rd., 43081, from 1PM-9PM for some relaxed mayhem!
